A lot of great interest in Mordheim lately. I think we are all having a blast. I like Mordheim the best out of all the games I have played so far because it has a narrative. There is shared history. People like Curt capture and kill my Assassin which gives me a serious Cry . But the game goes on. I think everyone is hungry for more pips so they can get more skills, loot band members etc...

What do you think about setting a campaign limit of 4 games every 2 weeks? This will allow us to get in a game of 40K or fantasy here and there, blay blood bowl or even bring in board games. There are a lot of great discussions about building terrain, houses etc... My thoughts are that playing Mordheim should leave you hungry to play more next week, get revenge get those skills etc. This will prevent burnout in my opinion.

I agree with you that we should attempt to curb the burn-out possibility. I really like the idea of this being an on-going thing rather than a cyclic upswing. However - I think an imposed cap of how many games you can play isn't a good idea. I'd like to keep it as play-how-you-want to play. I actually think that almost any "schedule" will result in burn-out; either by causing people to feel like they need to get in their "requisite" games - or by causing other people to get bored because they can't play on a given night because they played a bit more last week.

That being said though, I do plan on attempting to diversify my Monday night play time with some other activities. I'll probably get in a Mordy game - but I think I'll bring a modeling project with me, or a board game (probably FFG's A Game of Thrones - its pretty easy to pick up.)

And as alway...I'll have my Lord of the Rings figures with me if anyone wants to learn. I showed The FG a intro scenario last night - one step closer to conversion!! Twisted Evil

i agree with curt, that limiting the games isn't such a good idea. although, the other thread that has a background theme going to it is a good idea. maybe a table to roll on to see if we find a clue or something like that. while getting a free peek at the opponents clue or clues if you win. with such a loose league i think that something too complex might add confusion or cause people to stop playing. of course with the group that we have, it can be adjusted on the go.

more thoughts to come(maybe) Razz
